Transforming Growth Factor β (TGF-β1) ELISA

Description

The K-ASSAY®Human Transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGFβ1) ELISA is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative determination of TGFβ1 in human cell culture supernatant, serum, plasma and urine.

TGFβ1 is a multifunctional cytokine of the TGF superfamily. It is secreted by many cell types in a latent form, which consists of its mature form and a latency-associated peptide (beta1-LAP), in either the presence or the absence of additional latent TGFβ1-binding protein. TGFβ1 is involved in a host of biological processes including cell growth and differentiation, promoting fibrosis and down-regulating inflammation.

Expression of TGFβ1 is elevated in diabetic nephropathy and various types of cancer.
