Fibroblast Growth Factor-21 (FGF-21) ELISA
BioMarkers | Diabetic Nephropathy | Inflammation
Description
The K-ASSAY®Human fibroblast growth factor-21 (FGF-21) ELISA is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative determination of FGF21 in human cell culture supernatant, serum and plasma.
FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities relevant to biological processes, such as cell growth and tissue repair. FGF21 is induced by prolonged fasting to regulate glucose and fatty acid metabolism.
Increased circulating FGF21 levels are observed in metabolic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, obesity and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) as well as chronic kidney disease.
