8-hydroxy-2’-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) ELISA
BioMarkers | Diabetic Nephropathy | Oxidative Stress
Description
The K-ASSAY®8-hydroxy-2’-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) is a quantitative assay of 8-OHdG in urine, serum, tissue and other biological samples.
8-OHdG is a specific marker of DNA oxidative damage produced by oxidation of deoxyguanosine by reactive oxygen and nitrogen species..
Elevated levels of 8-OHdG serve as a biomarker of oxidative stress, which is associated with various acute and chronic humans diseases. Increased plasma or urinary 8-OHdG is reported in chronic liver diseases, diabetes-associated complications (nephropathy, retinopathy), cardiovascular disease and various cancers.
